I kind of wish that I still had a large group of friends that I was in, because I doubt I would feel as lonely. Even though I have close friends, I’m sure I’m not “#1” on their list. There will always be someone who is more highly prioritized than I am. I wouldn’t mind having a large crowd of friends because I think I’d feel exactly the same either way.
